Interested in transforming lives through better behavioral health care?

More than 50 million Americans suffer from a behavioral health condition such as depression, anxiety, or substance abuse, and the current health care system is failing too many of them. The result is untold suffering for patients and their families — plus billions in avoidable costs.

We believe that increased access to behavioral health services is critical to solving this problem, and thus we must provide best-in-class care for patients. To achieve this goal, we are building a team of clinicians to support patients to improve behavioral health care. We are also building software tools to empower care teams and patients.

Working with Lyra Health technology, Lyra Clinical Care Advisors, both in-person and remotely, provide support, guidance and clinical intervention to patients, coordinate care, and monitor outcomes over time. They manage key relationships with psychiatrists, other behavioral health providers, and our employer customers. As an early team member, you will shape our service and impact how Lyra Health technology is built.

Here are some examples of what we’re working on:

  • Creating a team of care providers passionate about improving patient outcomes through appropriate (e.g., evidence-based) treatment, keen to use technology, and test new models of care to ensure an outstanding patient experience
  • Providing direct clinical support and guidance to a cohort of patients, including in-person and phone-based interventions and consistent follow-up
  • Developing clinical protocols to support the standard and high-quality provision of evidence-based behavioral health care
  • Building a learning organization that grows and evolves based on the experience of our team, our partners, and our customers in a manner consistent with the best clinical evidence available
  • Building and forging partnerships with health plans, employers, and providers to provide direct health care and analytic support

What we care about:

  • Your experience and training. We’re a small team, so we need people who can hit the ground running as a licensed clinician with demonstrated experience supporting behavioral health patients with a team-based approach.
  • Your communication skills through various channels. We care about meeting our patients via the means of communication they are most comfortable with: phone, email, messaging, video chat, and in-person.
  • Your ability to influence patient care. Our work requires a deep appreciation for evidenced-based and appropriate behavioral health treatments, developing a strong clinical relationship with patients, understanding the challenges they face, and serving as a key advocate and ally on their path to better behavioral health.
  • Your ability to influence people, from our behavioral health specialists to patients to benefits directors, in support of our mission to transform behavioral health care.
  • Your high standards and judgment on what matters. We appreciate people who want to excel at everything, but who know how to ruthlessly prioritize and deliver.
  • Your desire to make a difference in people’s health and well-being. We all care deeply about making a difference in people’s lives, and we hope you do too!

What it means to work at a technology startup:

  • Fast-paced environment - We move quickly to evolve tools, protocols based on data so we need people who are comfortable with constant change and improvement.
  • Dynamic roles - You’ll be expected to care for patients and go beyond by contributing to protocols, providing feedback for the product, and thinking critically about our care model. Unlike larger companies, we are building the company from the ground up so we don’t have a lot of established process.
  • High expectations - We are a small team looking to make a huge impact so we expect dedication and positive collaboration from every team member.

What we require:

  • A PhD, PsyD, MSW, or MFT, and unrestricted license in state of employment
  • Strong, collaborative, proactive communications skills
  • Willingness to travel periodically for the company
  • Willingness to maintain established work pace and meet deadlines
  • Competence with exposure to confidential protect health information and with the expectation to maintain confidentiality at all times

Local candidates to Burlingame (SF Bay Area), CA, only; no relocation offered.

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin or disability.
