Interested in helping to transform lives through better mental health care?

More than 50 million Americans suffer from a behavioral health condition such as depression, anxiety, or substance abuse, and the current health care system is failing too many of them. The result is untold suffering for patients and their families — plus billions in avoidable costs.

To help Lyra organize and stay on top of the different legal requirements for our business we are seeking to add paralegal support to our legal and compliance team The Lyra legal team is responsible for navigating the state, federal (and international!) laws and regulations across multiple areas of law, including for EAPs and health plans, the practice of medicine and psychology, FDA regulation of digital apps, HIPAA and privacy, corporate and business law, employment, and intellectual property. As a part of the legal team you’ll help us to assess all aspects of a legal question for Lyra, and once we’ve come to an answer on any particular issue, we need help to ensure execution and compliance against that answer (and revisiting when necessary).

Here are some things we expect you to be responsible for:
Provider relations: Provider onboarding, contracting and renewals; ongoing support on clinician licensure (across different states and degrees, e.g., LCSW, PhD), continuing education requirements, and credentialing
Overall contract management: Creating, managing and maintaining integrity and security of contracts management database; when requested, assisting with editing and amending contracts and agreements
Corporate maintenance: Maintaining corporate records, creating corporate entities with appropriate periodic filings, working with corporation services companies, generating meeting minutes and related regulatory requirements
Compliance: Assisting with the reviews of and changes to policies, operating procedures, consent forms, and other documents, as well as supporting investigations and audits; primary areas are in clinical operations and data privacy
Other: Providing assistance and support to the legal team on a day-to-day basis (e.g., basic legal research) and larger initiatives (e.g., health plan filings), as well as supporting other teams with legal or contract-related requests and special requests as needed

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred; paralegal certificate is a plus
• 5+ years as a paralegal in a top law firm or in-house
• Deep familiarity with healthcare law, experience in corporate and transactional law
• Highly organized with great attention to detail; self-starter with ability to work independently and juggle multiple projects and priorities
• Comfort with technology and ability to quickly learn new programs; we work across Microsoft Office, G Suite/Google Apps, Adobe, etc. and often experiment with new apps and software

The role is located in Burlingame, CA, near San Francisco Airport. No part-time or remote candidates will be considered, and local candidates are strongly preferenced.

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin or disability.
